Our People

David P. O’Neal has extensive experience in the legal and insurance fields, beginning his career
as a claims investigator before attending law school. He joined Goodell, Stratton, Edmonds &
Palmer, LLP in 2016, focusing on medical malpractice and insurance defense litigation.

Mr. O’Neal graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas in 1994, where he
participated in the National Health Law Moot Court Competition. Mr. O’Neal earned his
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas in 1982.

Active in the Topeka community, Mr. O’Neal presently serves on several nonprofit boards and
committees. He has also previously served as president of Topeka Young Life and chair of the
Washburn Rural High School Baccalaureate Committee. Additionally, he has been active in his
church’s outreach ministry program and worship team.
